A wedding day at Coco Beach
The photographs on this page come from a wedding I photographed at Coco Beach Club, and they tell the day better than words. It began with the quiet moments – a hug before the ceremony, the wedding gifts, the details. Then the guests arrived, the groom chatted with guests and posed with his best men, and his parents and the guests took their places.
The ceremony took place on the beach: the father of the bride, the ring boy, the exchange of rings, the kiss. After the ceremony came the rings, the first kiss as a married couple, the first dance – and, at the end, balloons drifting up into the sky. That is exactly how I like to photograph a wedding: as it happens, with all its emotion, and without interrupting it. [TODO Adamo: couple’s first names and year if they agree to be featured]
Photographing Polignano a Mare
Polignano gives a photographer everything: clifftop terraces, the sea, white houses and stone arches. For portraits, a walk through the historic centre and out onto one of the terraces is hard to beat.
As on every wedding, I plan the day with you in advance, including the list of family groups and the best places and times for your portraits. If your venue is new to me, I visit it beforehand to see the light and the backdrops.
A few questions worth deciding early: will the ceremony be on the beach or on a terrace in town? Where will your guests stay? And how much time would you like for portraits in the historic centre? Once I know, I can build a timeline that gives every part of the day the time it deserves.
Polignano and the rest of Puglia
Polignano a Mare is only one side of Puglia. If you love the countryside as well as the sea, the region’s masserie – whitewashed farm estates among olive groves and vineyards, many with rooms for guests – are a wonderful alternative or complement, and towns like Ostuni, Alberobello and Cisternino are well worth discovering too.
